Frequently Asked Questions on YouTube Marketing Software

Is creating a youTube account free even for businesses?

YouTube is free for anyone, whether your account is for personal or business purposes. You don’t need to pay a premium fee for any additional storage, and you don’t have to worry about the length or number of videos you upload—since YouTube has no limits.

What is the difference between a youtube channel and a youtube account?

Merely having a YouTube account is enough to perform the basic activities on YouTube, such as watching, commenting, subscribing, and liking videos. Your channel, however, is where your viewers can watch your content. It’s also where you build your public presence on YouTube.

How do I set up my own youtube channel?

Create your YouTube account.

Each YouTube account is linked to a particular Google account, so simply sign in to YouTube with your Google account. If you plan to create a company YouTube account, make sure to select a brand account when setting up.

Choose appropriate channel art and account’s picture.

These two images are crucial for your channel’s branding and reach. If you’re creating your company’s YouTube account, your company’s logo is highly recommended to be used as your display picture. This is for your viewers to instantly recognize you, especially if they were just directed to your channel through other means, such as other social media platforms or affiliated blog posts.

Your channel art presents a visual representation of your brand for your audience. Professional logos and banners invoke good impressions from your new viewers; that’s why you need to use suitable designs that would make them stay on your channel.

Include links to your social media accounts and other relevant contact info.

You can use your YouTube channel to increase traffic on your other accounts, as well, by including all your related links and contact information. Displaying all your social media links on your channel art can direct your audience to your other social channels and website with a single click.

Construct a well-written YouTube channel description.

Your channel description presents an overview of how your brand’s products, services, or content adds value to your viewers. It should also explain what your channel is all about, your business background, and what your brand can offer to them as viewers.

Add your channel’s trailer.

A featured video is the next (if not the first) thing that your viewer would see when they go to your channel. Usually, your channel’s description isn’t found on your channel’s home page; that’s why you need a good self-introductory video!

You’re now all set up with the initial requirements for your YouTube channel. It’s now time to upload your video content.

What is the difference between a personal and brand account on youtube?

On the one hand, a personal account lets you enjoy basic YouTube features and have sole ownership over managing rights. A brand account, on the other hand, provides access to multiple members for managing a single YouTube channel.

Am I able to create a second youtube channel from my google account?

Yes, you can. A single google account can now be linked to as many as 50 YouTube channels.

What are the different roles in managing my youtube channel?

Brand accounts provide you the luxury of adding members to help manage your YouTube channel. Here are the different roles and their managing rights:

Primary owner

They are given the highest level of access to a YouTube account. Primary owners can upload, edit, and delete videos. They can also terminate the entire channel, revise account details, manage engagement, and view the channel’s analytics.

They are, however, incapable of removing their access from an account unless they transfer the role of primary owner to another owner.

Owner

They, too, can perform the tasks of a primary owner. Their main difference with the Primary Owner is that they can further easily remove themselves as owners of the channel.

Manager

This is the general role given to the majority of people who handle a YouTube account. They will be able to perform most of the owners’ roles, but they won’t be able to delete the channel nor add and delete other people’s roles.

How does the youtube partner program work?

The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) is a way for YouTubers to make money off their content. Being a partner means that you agree with YouTube to place ads all over your content. The revenue generated from these advertisements will go directly to Google. You, as a partner, will be earning a percentage through your Google Adsense account.

What are the basic requirements for me to begin monetizing my YouTube channel?

For you to start monetizing your content through YPP (i.e. with YouTube advertisements), you just need to follow these four simple things:

You have at least 1,000 YouTube subscribers.

You have accumulated a total of 4,000 Watch Time hours on your videos from the past 12 months.

You adhered to all of YouTube’s guidelines and policies.

You have linked your YouTube channel to a Google Adsense account.

What are the kinds of advertisements that are shown in youtube videos?

There are four major kinds of advertisements on YouTube ads:

Skippable In-Stream Ads

These ads are played before or during a video and, as the title suggests, allows the viewer to skip after the first 5 seconds of the ad video. These ads are paid for when the viewer watches the first 30 seconds or the whole ad.

Non-Skippable In-Stream Ads (bumper ads are included in this category)

Since a lot of people admit that they skip most of the ads they see on YouTube, these types of ads play the entire advertisement. These ads usually last 15 to 20 seconds and aim for a larger reach.

Video Discovery Ads (also known as in-display ads)

This type of ad maximizes YouTube as a search engine and drives user engagement through organic search results. These types of ads can be found on YouTube’s home page, on top of the search results, and on top of a viewer’s recommended video.

Clicking on the ad would redirect the viewer to the entire promotional video. These ads serve as an option for viewers to watch should their relevance be closer to the intended search outcomes.

Non-Video Ads (e.g., overlays and banners)

These advertisements are options for brands that don’t have video ads. They only present call to action (CTA) buttons that direct the viewer to the brand’s website. These CTA links are mostly placed on relevant YouTube content that would encourage your viewers’ conversion.

What other options can I use to monetize my YouTube channel aside from YouTube advertisements?

Affiliate marketing is another option for you to monetize your channel, especially for channels with a smaller number of subscribers. Inserting affiliate links in your videos’ description box enforces your status as an influencer. There are many affiliate marketing training YouTube channels that teach you how to reach out to brands and gain paid sponsorships or partnerships.

Can I lose monetization on youtube?

Once your monetization request has been approved, YouTube doesn’t immediately revoke your rights to monetize your channel—even if your channel drops below the threshold level. However, YouTube would reconsider this right if you haven’t uploaded a video for the past six months. This right will be revoked immediately, though, if you disobey any of YouTube’s community guidelines and policies.
